Think about drugs in this way; you are truly respecting your ego, personality and wisdom by refusing misuse of any kind of drugs at any time. This alone will make you feel confident and help you realize the value of your self-esteem and what it is worth. You have the power of will, so don’t take it for granted and be the one who decides about every issue without wasting your options.
You need to know about general substances which are frequently used as drugs which can eventually cause addiction and ruin your life routine in unexpected manners.
Tobacco: Although you might see several people smoking all the time, but it is still a drug of one sort. In other words the popularity of a substance, such as cigar, doesn’t erase its name from the list of drugs. Most of the people who smoke are addicted to it without admitting to this fact; yet if you take their cigarette away, even if it is for one single day, they will act in frustration and become distressed. Therefore, change your attitude and remember that cigarette is an addictive substance and a drug.
Alcoholic Drinks: Alcohol usually causes addiction and therefore a large portion of people drinking these drinks are dependent on the alcoholic substance and furthermore they are looking for the side effects of the drink which is drunkenness. It might sound strange, but the truth is that the concealed reason behind drinking for many is the mentioned issue; drunkenness. Such individuals want to forget their problems for a short time and they find this with alcoholic drinks. So alcoholic drinks of various type are also considered as drugs; especially when are used in exaggeration.
Cocaine, heroin, marijuana and opium: These are merely the name of some other common and well-known drugs which cause severe addiction and are abused by many addicts. There are a variety of other drugs which appear in other shapes and names too.
Initial Side-Effects of Drugs
It is indeed a fact that drugs bring along many issues and cause side-effects; even if they are used occasionally and in a small portion because anyhow they have a toxic nature which harms the body system in dangerous ways. Obviously the type of drug used, frequency of abuse and the usage method all result in differing consequences. Some of these drugs are very addictive, but regardless of the drug abused, most of them create an initial physiological dependence immediately. This means that once the person decides tostop taking the drugs, he will experience the withdrawal symptoms besides a craving for the drug. These negative physiological health effects include: digestion problems, respiratory infection, AIDS, Hepatitis C, brain damage and disruption of consciousness and free act; just to mention a few of these corruptive effects.
However some people really think there is nothing wrong with occasional drug abuse and they have a firm and solid control over it, but the truths and life evidences prove it wrong. This point will be discussed in the next issue.
